A/C Ducts: Air handler manufacturers recommend that they be cleaned every 5 to 7 years. I have seen first hand what toxic mold can do to 2 small children. Asthma patients also benefit from a clean air conditioned environment. Legionaries Disease comes from the stagnant water in the drain pan of the coil. The biggest problem is mold buildup on the coil and fan blades in the air handler, which circulates air laden with mold spores throughout the house.
